Ghandarva Loka Orchestra

On Friday, 5th September and Saturday 6th September. Two free concerts entitled ‘Songs of the Soul’ were held at the Herbst Theate, San Francisco. It featured a variety of Sri Chinmoy’s music performed by musicians from around the world, including Ghandarva Loka and Equinox.

To commemorate a musical legacy fathomless yet growing deeper, performers including three-time Academy Award nominated composer Philip Glass and six-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Roberta Flack, joined hearts and souls, on stage and in spirit, to give a concert of a lifetime in memory of a lifetime.

The two videos added from the Songs of the Soul concert feature the international Gandharva Loka Orchestra, comprised solely of Sri Chinmoy’s students, performing two of his over 21,000 compositions: Sundara Hate and I Can Lift Up 240 Pounds.
